It's pretty cool being Malay growing up in our city. You get the awesome of both worlds - the energetic atmosphere and all the tasty food, but also that strong sense of community and culture. It's not always easy, you know? Sometimes people don't comprehend our traditions or maybe they make funny assumptions about us. But overall, I wouldn't trade it for the world. There's so much love in being Malay, especially when you see lots of kids like yourself succeeding.
